New Research Addressing Family Caregivers Needs

Please click on the link below to read this new report on family caregivers and managed long term services and supports, from Susan Reinhard et al of the AARP Public Policy Institute.

“This study finds that managed care can lead the way in advancing person- and family-centered care,” and highlights promising practices from TennCare, South Carolina Healthy Connections Prime, United Healthcare and the Cal MediConnect Dementia Project. “Although family caregiver supports are still uncommon in managed Long Term Services and Support (LTSS), managed care contracts have the power to standardize the person- and family-centered approach that can lead to better care for members and their families.”

Thanks for this work, AARP.

  1. This is important work to help support unpaid family caregivers – we will need statistics on overall health and wellbeing of our caregivers.
